A Huge Thank You!

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make our Walkathon such a wonderful success! A special shout-out goes to our amazing students whose excitement, energy, and enthusiasm truly made the event memorable. We are so grateful for the support of our entire school community.

Thank you to all the parents who came to watch our chapel performance this past Friday.
This week in first grade, we will be learning about Moses. We will also start learning the Ten Commandments over the next two weeks. This is a bigger undertaking than the other Bible verses we have learned so far, so I highly recommend helping your child study at home as much as possible.
We are very excited to celebrate Grandparents’ Day on Friday, so we’re adjusting our testing schedule to accommodate the festivities. Our cursive test will be on Wednesday, our Phonics and Spelling tests will be on Thursday, and the Bible verse test will stay on Friday.
If you haven’t already, please sign up for a time to meet during our Parent-Teacher Conferences; the sign-up sheet is on the parent board outside the classroom. We are so excited for another great week in first grade!

Parent/Teacher Fellowship

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Game Night on Tuesday, September 29th. It was such a joy to see families laughing, playing, and spending time together; the energy in the room made it clear just how special our school community is.

Our Annual Walk‑a‑Thon is coming up soon on October 21 & 22. Flyers with all the details were sent home last week, so be sure to check those backpacks. Don’t forget and start collecting donations.  If you’d like to help with the event itself, please join us at our PTF meeting on Thursday, October 8th. Childcare is provided.

We’re looking forward to another great opportunity to connect, serve, and celebrate together as a school family.

From the Teachers

Pre-Kindergarten
Mrs. James
Thank you to Mrs. Mazariegos for the beautiful bulletin board decorations!  Thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Guevara for the baby wipes!

New month, new goals! This month we will be focusing on the letters Aa, Oo, Tt, Ll and Bb. The numbers 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8. The shape for the month is a circle and the color is orange. We are still counting to 20 and learning the alphabet and our vowels and consonants.
Walk-a-thon is coming up! I sent home info packets. Please check your child’s paperwork.
Have a blessed week!

Mrs. B
We will have a Math Test on Chapter 2 on Tuesday and a Bible and Poem Test on Friday.
Hello Kindergarten Families!
We just finished reviewing our vowels (Aa, Ee, Ii, Oo, Uu) and have sent home our first set of flashcards for you to go over with your child every night. Please go over the letter, the sound the letter makes, and the picture with your child every night. It is very important for your child to know their letter sounds, so please encourage them to practice every night.
Friendly reminder that if your child is absent, they will have the number of days absent to complete their missing work. If it is not returned to me the day it is due, unfortunately they may get a zero in the gradebook.
Please check the bottom portion of this week’s homework for important dates coming up in October.
We hope you all have a blessed week!

Ms. Mayer
This week in first grade, we are learning about Abraham and Issac and diving deeper into the promises God makes to us.
We are still learning our addition facts in Math and will be focusing on our +4s.
In Spelling, we are continuing to work on our poem “The Secret” and will be introducing our first spelling list on Friday.
Our First Penmanship test is on Wednesday.
On Friday, we will take our Bible, Phonics, and Math tests.
Have a great week!
